5 Ways to Reprogram Your Mind with Natural Hypnosis

Did you know that you naturally experience hypnosis during the day at least 2 times?

Think about that drowsy state right after you wake up or right before you fall into a comfortable sleep. Sounds familiar? These are just two examples of natural hypnosis that we experience on a daily basis. However, there are lots of other times during the day when we may slip into natural hypnosis. These are actually more common than you may think.

Have you ever wondered why you feel hungry right in the middle of watching TV? Or how come some of us get so absorbed in a movie that we start crying or we feel so terrified that we cannot sleep after watching a thriller movie?

When we watch a movie or TV, we are also in natural hypnosis the majority of the time. This is why we encounter lots of commercials every 5-10 minutes, and all of a sudden, we have an urge to eat junky but delicious food even though we may not be hungry.

Natural states of hypnosis can be just as powerful as a hypnotherapy session. It’s important to carefully add positive affirmations to the subconscious mind during these subconscious states.

Here are 5 tips that are very simple but also very helpful to start conditioning your subconscious mind positively during natural hypnosis:

1-    Change your car ride background noise

Driving is one of those activities when we are mostly on autopilot, a.k.a natural hypnosis! How many times have you found yourself driving inattentively, to the point where you missed your exit or arrived at your destination without realizing that you were actually driving this whole time!?

Driving, especially driving in traffic, can take a long time and be draining at times. It is possible to turn this “waste of time” into “subconscious programming time”!

When you are in natural hypnosis like this, you can tune into your favorite positive podcast. Especially motivational, or inspiring podcasts can really help change your subconscious landscape while you learn something new.

You can also listen to positive affirmations. These recorded affirmations can be found online through Youtube videos or other podcasts. You can also record your own affirmations and listen to them while driving. Remember, the best way to get into your subconscious mind is your own words!

2-    Put yourself to sleep with affirmations

Before bedtime is a magical time and it should be used wisely. If you sleep listening to the news or scary movies, most likely you will either have disturbed sleep or anxious dreams. On the other hand, if you sleep with meditation or a relaxed mind, you can wake up with high motivation and refreshed mind.

Before sleep time is so magical, the famous hypnotist and scientist Émile Coué knew about this and used it to heal his patients. His recipe was simple, every night as you are about to fall asleep repeat 20 times to yourself “Every day in every way, I am getting better and better.”.

Simple, right? But extremely effective. Many of Coué’s patients reported healing and improving after following his instructions.

You can follow an affirmation as Coué gave to his patients, but also you can adopt a different affirmation that makes sense to you. The key is, to repeat it in the mind at the magical time of sleep!

3-    Journal or affirm positively before sleep

If you are like me and find yourself falling asleep after the second repetition of your affirmation, this practice may be a better fit for you.

As the time for sleep approaches, the mind and body get ready for sleep. This means the brain waves slow down and the muscles start to relax which creates a natural hypnotic state. Even before you get into bed, usually your mind starts to slip into natural hypnosis. In other words, these are the times that you can still take advantage of!

When you get into bed, practice a positive 3-minute relaxing exercise. The most common ones are journaling, breathing, or reading positive affirmations. This is supposed to be a short and sweet exercise to leave the day on a positive note.

You can journal about some of your virtues, things that you are grateful for, or even the things that you’d like to achieve. Even a short 3-minute positive visualization can go a long way!

4-    Wake up and set an intention

As soon as we wake up, the mind is transitioning between being asleep and wakening. The brain waves are slower than usual and the muscles are pretty inactive in comparison to daytime. This is also a natural state of hypnosis. What you do as soon as you wake up can make a big difference in your day.

Of course doing meditation, mindfulness, or breathwork would be great practice options for a morning routine. However, not all of us get to have that much time in the mornings. How about a 2-minute intention setting while you are still in bed? No excuses for that one!

While you are still in bed, think about what matters to you and what would you like to accomplish on that day. You can even imagine that something really exciting is about to happen. Who knows! The mind is a goal machine and as soon as you set your mind, you will see magical things happen!

5-    Listen to a podcast while your hands are busy

Usually, when we do chores around the home or work on something that requires physical effort, we are in natural hypnosis. This could be something like cooking, cleaning the home, or fixing something around the house. This is also a great opportunity to reprogram your mind!

Tune into your favorite positive podcast, guru, or affirmation channel! Learn about hundreds of useful information that you had no idea about! Or listen to healing stories that can be an inspiration to you. This can also help transform your chores into something you look forward to!
