4 Ways to Train Your Brain to Focus and Think Faster

In this day and age, all of us suffer from a lack of concentration and focus at some point. Some of us struggle with focus occasionally, especially at certain times such as when working but for some of us, it’s almost a constant problem.

Focus and concentration are crucial elements to optimize our skills, thinking clearly and efficiently, and do our best at work, relationships, and personal goals.

This article is not going to include things like “keep your desk clean, focus on one task at a time” or “time block your schedule”. Instead, in this article, you will learn how you can adjust your mind, and your thinking and train your mind to give the results that you desire.

When you can set your mind for clear focus and thinking, your brain and body will follow up with results. Here is how you can do it by yourself:

How to Optimize Focus and Concentration

1-    Use visualization

Visualization is a very powerful technique that the mind responds to quickly and effectively. During visualization, our neurons are active, sending positive signals to our brain. Especially during altered states of consciousness such as hypnosis or meditation, the mind cannot really differentiate between imagination and reality. Therefore, can respond to visualizations as if they are happening at that moment.

To increase your focus and think faster, visualize and imagine yourself having the optimized focus, concentration, and thinking that you desire. How do you look like when you have that level of focus? How does that feel? How do you know you have intense focus? How does that affect your life quality, work, and self-esteem?

By focusing on these questions, you will get an inside-out experience of that visualization. When practiced consistently, this will train your mind to cultivate more focus, concentration, and quick thinking.

You can optimize your motivation and the way your brain works by optimizing your subconscious power.

2-    Give yourself specific affirmations

The words that we use affect our thinking, and our thinking affects our results. This is where the power of affirmations comes from. When you use the right words to influence your mind, you can influence your thinking and, therefore your results!

In your own words, think about positive affirmations that would describe your goal about focus and fast thinking. It’s important that your affirmations come from you, not from other sources. Think about the end goal, how does that feel?

For example, your affirmation about focus can sound like this “I am very focused at work and when I am focused, I think faster and I concentrate easily”. Be specific, clear, and positive. You can learn more about optimizing your affirmations in my previous blog post, by clicking here.

3-    Use self hypnosis

Hypnosis itself is a very focused state. During hypnosis, the body is completely relaxed, so much so that you may not even feel your body at times but meanwhile, the mind is very open and concentrated on the new information and suggestions. With self hypnosis, it’s possible to create a positive state of concentration.

By practicing self hypnosis regularly, not only you can train your mind to focus easily whenever you desire, but also you can use the trance state to give yourself powerful affirmations. Moreover, during self-hypnosis, you can simply open your eyes and start working on your task with that potent focus!

All in all, self hypnosis is a great tool to optimize focus, and tap into quick thinking and creativity! You can learn more about how self hypnosis works in my blog post, by clicking here.

4-    Think about after

Habit researchers found that most of us when we are about to start a new habit, we think about all the dreadful aspects of that action. For example, you may dread working out because it’s going to take energy and you don’t feel enough motivation at the moment. However, if you actually focus on how you will feel after that action, your brain sends the signals of motivation instantly.

Think about the workout example again. If you think about how good and accomplished you will feel after working out or how you will look after you work out consistently, researchers found that you will have positive motivation instead.

When it comes to focus, the same principle applies. Often we lose focus and concentration because we dread the task so much. But instead, if you focus on how much relief you will feel afterward or how good that accomplishment will feel, you will be able to hack your mind and get positive results!
